Default subscription length
The default length of any m-Path subscription (see pricing page https://m-path.io/landing/pricing.html) is one year. The pricing page shows the cost for one year. It is also possible to immediately buy a subscription for multiple years. It is not possible to buy a subscription for less than one year.
Buying a subscription for multiple years
It is possible to immediately buy a subscription for multiple years. This has multiple advantages:
- m-Path prices may rise in the future (e.g. because of inflation). Buying multiple years in advance will make sure you pay the current m-Path price for all these years.
- In a normal yearly subscription, participant slots are valid for that one single year. After that year, participants expire. A subscription for multiple years gives you more freedom. For example:
- Buying first one year of 300 participants and after that year buying another year of 300 participants. In this scenario you need to make sure to use exactly 300 participant slots in the first year and 300 participant slots in the second year.
- Buying immediately 2 years of 300 participants per year. This will give you immediately access to 600 participants that you can distribute as you wish over these 2 years.
- Less administration. You only need to go through the buying (administrative) process once.
Extending your subscription
If you need more time in your current subscription you can always extend your subscription. It is possible to extend your subscription for less than one year. The cost of extending a subscription is computed as follows:
(yearly proportion) x (yearly cost of subscription for a specific number of participants).
The yearly proportion is the number of months of the extension divided by 12. The smallest possible extension is 3 months.
The yearly cost of the subscription for a specific amount of participants is given in the pricing page (https://m-path.io/landing/pricing.html). If you have an essential subscription, also the standard subscription price will hold. The yearly cost of a subscription of less than 300 participants is the same as the yearly cost of 300 participants.
Some examples (all VAT excl):
- A researcher has a standard subscription for 300 participants and has used 200 participant slots. She now wants to extend the subscription with 6 months. In this case, the yearly proportion is 1/2 and the yearly cost is 2099 Euro. The total cost for the extension is 1050 Euro.
- A researcher has an essential subscription for 300 participant slots, has already used 200 participants and wants to extend 100 participant slots with 9 months. In this case, the yearly proportion is 3/4. In an essential subscription, the standard subscription price (2099 Euro) will hold for the extension. The total cost for the extension is 1574 Euro. Note that she would be able to get a full new subscription year (essential subscription) for 1599 Euro. This would also include 300 new participant slots (instead of 100 with the extension).
- A researcher has a comfort subscription for 800 participant slots and has used already 400 participant slots. She now wants to extend the subscription with 6 months for the left over 400 participant slots. The yearly proportion is 1/2 and the subscription cost is 3845 Euro for 400 participants in comfort. The cost for the extension is 1923 Euro.
It is also possible to add new participants to a subscription. This is explained here. Adding participants does not automatically extend the subscription. Extending the subscription does not automatically add new participant slots. It is possible to both extend the subscription and add participant slots, but it will almost always be more advantageous to buy a fully new subscription in this case.
